The defence industry start-ups and MSMEs are about to get a major push with regard to funding worth Rs 5000 crores from incubators led by Boeing India.

On the second day of the on-going DefExpo 2022 in Gandhinagar,  the president of Boeing India, Salil Gupte while speaking exclusively to NEWSGATE on the sidelines at a seminar on investments and opportunities for MSMEs in defence sector said time is ripe “for a new fund to be created to the tune of Rs 5000 crores, to incubate enterprises in defence sector”.

Boeing had already tasted good results with regard to seeding funds to defence start-ups/MSMEs Salil Gupte told NEWSGATE.

The Boeing India patronised about 300 defence start-ups in the recent past and had purchased goods worth Rs 8000 crores to be exported in overseas territories.

Salil Gupte said that 70 out of 300 start-ups projected by Boeing had given results beyond their expectations.
