The week gone by saw two significant Indian visits of defence ministers from USA and Germany.The first to arrive in New Delhi was US Secretary of State Lloyd Austin. He landed in New Delhi on Monday the 5th of June

Though it was not officially stated  – US has agreed for a partnership of final development of engine for LCA Mark II  –  the India’s indigenous fighter jet.

The formal announcement is expected to be made later this month when Prime Minister Narendra Modi goes to United States.

On Tuesday the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh hosted his German counterpart Boris Pistorius.

The Germans have agreed to invest in Indian defence production units in both the North Defence Corridor in Uttar Pradesh as well as in the South Defence Corridor in Tamil Nadu.

India and Germany have a Strategic Partnership since 2000, which is being strengthened through Inter-Governmental Consultations since 2011 at the level of Heads of Government.
