With nearly 4,000 crore US Dollars or JPY 5 trillion investment over the next five from Japan in mind , the prime minister Narendra Modi will have opportunities to interact with business leaders on the side lines of Ouad Summit in Tokyo.

On Sunday the 22nd of May 2022, he issued a statement before leaving for Tokyo stating that during the March Summit with Japanese PM, Mr Kishida had announced their intention to realize JPY 5 trillion in public and private investment and financing over the next five years from Japan to India.

In Tokyo, “I will meet with Japanese business leaders with the goal of further strengthening economic linkages between our countries, in pursuit of this objective,” the Modi said.

With fast changing global developments particularly in aftermath of the on-going  Russian-Ukraine conflict, Modi said “Quad leaders will exchange views about developments in the Indo-Pacific region and global issues of mutual interest.”

“The Summit will provide an opportunity for the leaders of the four Quad nations to review the progress of Quad initiatives,” he said.

US President Joe Biden and newly elected Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will be joining the Quad Leaders’ Summit for the first time.

Modi will be visiting Tokyo from May 23 to May 24 on the invitation of Japan PM Fumio Kishida.

Modi will also interact with Indian diaspora in Tokyo
